The BBC was nice enough to give another presentation on Sunday night about their series show "Life". We were the first Americans to get to see the show...it should be on Discovery in a couple months. It was aired in Britain just last week. It is a similar program to "Planet Earth" but focuses more on the life of the animals. Birth, eating, mating...etc. We got to watch the first show that introduces the series. It was the best of the best footage. Amazing! There was so many cool animals. There are small monkeys who are smart enough to collect nuts, dry them out in the sun for a week then use a certain kind of rock that wont break to crack them. It then showed how the children learn. They are wicked smart! (As my Boston friends would say.) We also saw a seal out swim a pod of Orcas by swimming around and around this small iceberg until the whales got tired and left. It also showed a venus fly trap in action. Amazing!! It was a great show and I would recommend it.
Also, I found out that Sir David Attenborough is coming to McMurdo in January with one of the executive producers at the BBC. They are only coming to McMurdo so there will be lots of time to talk to them. Mr. Attenborough narrated "Planet Earth", "Life" and "Frozen Planet". Very cool!
