BBC "Frozen Planet"

Every Sunday night and sometimes Wednesdays we have science lectures from the scientists that are down here at McMurdo. Last night the BBC talked about their sequel to "Planet Earth", "Frozen Planet" which is about the two poles. The guy giving the presentation is the same guy who was filming bat guano in the caves section of Planet Earth. Very cool!! He talked all about the cool camera equipment they use and we got to see some clips from the upcoming show. They got footage of killer whales circling this iceberg to make waves and break up the ice that this seal was on so it would fall in the water. Animals are so smart. They also got some amazing footage of wolves and bison up north. They will be here all season filming the southern end of the poles and will hopefully do more lectures. Very awesome!!

    That is so awesome that they do that. How great to get to learn from all those knowledgeable people.
